Dusty loves the desert. It is clean. pure and unforgiving – and always full of challenges. Dusty was working as a refrigerator repairman and studying desert ecology at night when his pre-enlistment application for the G.I. Joe team was approved. The blistering heat during the day, the freezing cold at night, snakes, scorpions, sheet lightning, dust storms and gritty sand – none of these things bother Dusty. That´s because to him, the desert is his home – every hot and sandy bit of it. He is fluent in the languages spoken in the desert regions around the world. He took Basic at Fort Bliss in Texas and loved every minute of it.
